Hello All,
I have a small test network setup 1 win 2k server, 2 win 2k pro
workstations, 2 win xp pro workstations.
All patches including win xp sp2, but this problem was occurring before sp2
rollout.
The win xp pc's cannot see the win 2k server. The win xp pro pc's can see
the win 2k pro pc's - shares files ... etc.
The win 2k pro pc's can see the win xp pro pc's , and the win 2K server,
share files, etc.
I can't even access a file share by IP address. I can ping the win 2K server
from the win xp pc's, but when I "search" for the win 2K server by IP
address the server is not found.
There are no firewalls enabled (win xp, or third party) on any pc.
The workstation, and firewall (win xp pro) services are running on the
respective pc's
They all connect to the same linksys 5 port switch.
I have even reinstalled the 2 win xp pro pc's OS from the ground up, and
they still refuse to see the Win 2K server.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
