Hi, Could someone tell me how to adjust my settings so
that when I open Windows explorer to view folders I don't
have to click on a several folders before I can get to
view my C:/ Drive??? Isn't there a way to set it so that
when I click on Windows Explorer on my desktop that it
opens up and all of the folders in my C drive will be
visible on the left side of the page??? I've tried all
the customize options but nothing works. Kind of
surprised that "Remember each folder's view settings"
will not remember the view setting that I created.
Thanks, Al

Create a new shortcut and point it here:

C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e,C:\

This will open explorer with the c drive expanded.

Hi Al,

By defaut, Windows Explorer always opening up with My Documents. Customize
it, by changing the properties for the Windows Explorer icon and replace the

Target field with: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, c:\yourfolder

Right-click the icon, click Properties and edit the target box so it
looks like this:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,c:\

In place of the c:\ you can substitute any folder or subfolder. Note
there is a space before the /n but no spaces after it.

I'm going to have to stand corrected on the "no spaces". I'm sure that
was the case once, but not any more. Just tried it and it works either
way.

Thanks, that's good to hear.

Thanks to everyone for their input on this.
