I recently had to replace my main hard drive.

Everything's back to normral except for two things.

One, how do I set my system so that by default, folder view is "List" and
"arrange icons by name" for all folders unless I tell an individual folder to
do otherwise while viewing that folder so the view settings for that
individual folder are remembered every time I visit that folder?

Two, how do I set my system so that if I do have a need to set a folder's
view to Thumbnails, my system doesn't cache the thumbnails, thereby creating
a thumbs.db file?

Thanx in advance to anyone who replies!

Open Explorer, and set the window up the way you want it. Open Tools, Folder
Options, View, and scroll down to and check "Remember each folder's view
settings." Click Apply at the bottom, then click Apply to all Folders at the
top. Click OK to exit.

Open Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View, and scroll down to and check "Do
not cache thumbnails."
