Service Pack 2 Install Preventing Laptop Startup

I downloaded and Installed SP-2 today on my HP Pavilion ze-
5155 laptop (w/ Windows Xp Home edition) and when I
rebooted I get the first black and white screen ("press F2
foe, F10 for, F12 for..) and then the Windows XP Logo
screen for a few seconds and then the blank screen for
about 45 seconds and the blinking light as the hard drive
loads data for about 45 seconds and then the machine goes
into reboot and does the same thing over and over and
over...
I have forced it into the mode for Safe Mode startup and
have tried all options there (including the one to use the
Last Known Good Startup Configuration) to no avail.
