Sent cancellation but don't have any trace of it

I cancelled a meeting and sent the cancellation notice to attendees. I don't see a sent email for the cancellation. Is there somewhere I can find "proof" that I sent a cancellation? I'm getting my a$$ chewed for not letting people know that something was cancelled, even though I did.
