Sending multiple emails but saving only 1 copy

Bill Tinsley

I have been using a distribution list in the BCC address to send
emails in Outlook 2003 so that all addresses are not visible to each
recipient. I found out that if I leave the TO box blank then the
recipient sees an email that I appear to have sent to myself. (This
seems to have always been the case but someone just mentioned it
recently.) There are suggestions of using some type of add-in to do a
mail merge but if I understand correctly each message will be saved in
my sent messages box. I would like to be able to save 1 message only
so that I have a copy but not clutter up the sent mail folder with
multiple duplicates (with only different addressees.) Is there a way
to do this easily or must I constantly go into the sent mail folder
and clean it up? TIA for any suggestions.

you can set outlook to not save sent messages and include yourself on the
merge so you have a copy, but I think it would be easier to delete the
extras from the sent folder after all are sent.
