Sending e-mail with attachemnts.

Most of my e-mails with attachments (.jpg .doc and others) are not sent.
The "Outbox" is shown in Bold for a short time, less than it will take to
send the e-mail.
Then it looks like it has been sent. No error messages. I have sent such
e-mails to myself (verizon ISP) and they come thru but the ones to others
vanish.
They do show up in "Sent Items" and in the beginnign I assumed all was OK.
I have the Symatec Protection Center installed and it may be the culprit.
What is the best alternative, I understand that McAffee is just as bad.

Windows Mail has problems adding attachments when they open in some
program. You might make sure the other programs are closed first.

I haven't hear about the Symatec Protection Center, but Symantec makes
the Norton line of antivirus programs, most of which cause assorted
problems in Windows Mail. So do most versions of the McAfee
antivirus software and a recent version from Trend. Just disabling these
is not enough; they have to be uninstalled to keep them from creating
new problems.

For a Norton program, you also need to run the cleanup program:

You may even need to remove your email account under Windows
Mail, then create it again.

If this solves your problem, you may want a replacement antivirus
program. I recommend either avast! or AVG, either one with a
custom install that tells it to leave out the part that scans email.
