Can't send e-mails

This just started happening with my wife's Vista Windows Mail account
(Comcast ISP): She can't send e-mails. They sit in her Outbox unsent.
If she goes to the Outbox and clicks on the bolded (unsent) message,
it unbolds, but remains in Outbox, although the number of unsent
messages reduces by one (as indicated by number in parentheses besides
my outbox in the Local Folders column). The message she wants to send
does not appear in the Sent box. When I click on Send/Receive it goes
through the motions but nothing happens and there's no error message.
The overall account has 2 users, me and my wife. I'm having no
problems sending e-mails from my Windows Mail account (Comcast ISP).
Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Can she delete the messages? If not, apply this fix:
Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090
It also works on other folders.
