I recently upgraded from Dial-up to DSL. I get the
Internet, and I can receive emails, but I cannot send them.
I have tried adjusting a number of settings, but the
problem is not solved. Please help.

Is the DSL with the same ISP as the dial-up?

If not, then you are most likely out of luck.
Most ISPs won't let you send mail via their SMTP
server if you are connected via another ISP.

This is an anti-spam measure.

You need to set up a new mail account with the new ISP,
using the server details they provided.

I use Earthlink - and I didn't change. That shouldn't be
the problem. I'm thinkging it is a setting in Network
Connections or something like that that has to be changed.

My ISP uses different servers for dial-up and for broadband, have you
checked if this is the case with earthlink?
