Send/receive hangs

My Outlook has recently started to hang
during "send/receive". I have 9 POP3 email accounts set
up, and it processes some, but then gets to one that it
tries for an hour to receive.

I have updated to the latest SP, and I have also gone and
checked the email on the provider's server. A few weeks
ago I did find some residual spam email on the server (no
idea why it was left on the server) and removing it
seemed to clear up the problem. Now I am having the
problem again and that is not helping.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

What is your send/receive interval? Increasing it to 15 minutes or more can
help as so many accounts tend to step on the Send/Receive settings if
configured to send/receive more often.

Hi Milly, and thanks for the reply.
There is no send/receive interval - I want it to only S/R
when I click the button. This computer is on dial-up and
so email can only be checked when it's connected. Any
other ideas?

What happens when you click Send/Receive only for that account?
Tools>Send/Receive>that account only.

Good question Brian. Now that I have it working again, I
will have to wait to try that when (if) the problem
starts again. What are you thinking it is?

I was thinking of some time interval counter being exceeded because of the
multiple account queries. I though it might help to isolate the problem to
a specific account.
