I know that when using the novell client login there is a
way to send a message from a computer to another
computer. Is there a way to do this in Windows XP w/out
using novell? I would think there would be, but I have
been unable to find it.
Your help is appreciated!

If both XP computers have the Messenger Service running, you can use the
"net send" cmd...

c:\>net send computer1_name msg
c:\>net send computer1_IP msg

Messenger Service:
Transmits net send and Alerter service messages between clients and servers.
This service is not related to Windows Messenger. If this service is
stopped, Alerter messages will not be transmitted. If this service is
disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Do a "net start" at the cmd line to see if the Messenger service is started
or view the services mmc.

Hope that helps.
