Security Settings Prohibit Using Active X Controls?

I'm trying to help my daugher in law.

She has WXP Home with SP1. We keep getting that error message, but the only
thing I can find from MS is to go into the Internet Options and set her
default security. We've done that, but we keep getting this.

Because of this, we can't get the SP2, and she can't open things like MSN
etc.

Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know a real fix?

Thanks

run NEW CONNECTION again
But first Force your Virus protection Software to CHECK for UPDATES;;
If it connects then u know it is an IE problem.. If Not, you may have
your Firewall Blocking IE

Thanks. We checked both of those. Didn't fix it.

My thought was if my son may have downloaded some program or something that
is overriding the security settings, but I can't find anything that would do
that so far. But nothing we've tried yet seems to work. We considered just
formatting everything, but that's worse case. Too much to lose if we do
that.
