Security number for set up

Denise

We purchased our computer over two years ago, and work
2000 was pre-installed. My system just came back from
mother board repair and a restore. In order to use this
software, I have to have a 25 digit number that they say I
could get off my book that came with the software. I
CAN'T FIND THE BOOK!!!!! I need to find out if there is
a generic number that can be put in so I can re-install
this software. THANKS! PLEASE HELP!!

Greetings --

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

How to Replace Lost, Broken, or Missing Microsoft Software or Hardware

If it was an OEM license, you should contact whomever sold you the
OS; although very few manufacturers/vendors keep records of the
Product Keys they've sold, it's worth a try before you have to buy a
new license.
