Install help

I have the original Microsoft Works Suite 2000 disks that came with a
previous pc purchase. Once installed, everything works with the exception of
Word 2000. I am being asked for a 25 digit product code. The product id on
the ORIGINAL Cert of Auth is not 25 digits.

The 25 digit product key will be on a (usually orange) label on the disc
packaging and comprises 25 digits in groups of 5 separated by hyphens.

If Word 2000 is still installed on the old PC, you *may* be able to recover
it from that PC using Belarc Advisor (a free download). However OEM codes
*may* not work with PCs other than the one they were provided with, but you
will not be able to acertain that until you find the number.

I suspect Word 2000 is no longer supported so you may not be able to obtain
a new key http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823570 , but there is no harm
in trying. Tell the operator that you are trying to install Word on a new PC
and that you have lost the key.

You may be able to get a new copy from eBay for not a lot of money, though
there are lots of pirated versions out there.

Thanks for the help Graham but, I either get stopped at "this product is no
longer supported" or they want $50. Not willing to cough up the $$ to have
them tell me no.
