Cannot find my Product Key so I can install Word

Hi,
I have these discs that came with my computer when I bought it in 2003, and
I just now tried to install Microsoft Word 2000, off of the Works Suite 2001.
The installer asks me for my 25 digit Product Key found on the Cert. of
Auth., but these discs have been in my desk, and moved from one house to
another over the last 4 years, and I can't find any Cert. that came with it.
What should I do? I'd like to install it because my daughter needs to send
reports to her teacher, and my Works word processor is all we have. I love
it, but the school's computers can only read Word documents. Help please!

If this was an OEM version of Works Suite supplied with a PC as part of a
package then you will need to contact the supplier of the PC for the product
key. If it was a full retail version you *may* be able to get a new key. How
to obtain a new product key - see
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823570 - but I believe that Microsoft no
longer supports Word 2000 and this probably also means your version of
Works.

All Works versions I have used have had the ability to save a file in Word
format so she should be able to produce output that can be read in Word. The
alternative is to obtain a new version of Works suite. Look out for
student/teacher promotions.
