Security Center Bug?

G

Guest

I have downloaded and installed Service Pack 2, but everytime I load Windows
the Security Center appears stating my firewall is switched off. If I set
alerts to off for the firewall setting, after a reboot, this setting has been
re-enabled, therefore the same message appears.

I have had to disable the Security Center service using "services.msc" for
now. I am not running the Windows XP Firewall for the reason that is
interferes with my LAN connection.

Any suggestions?

Right click your Network Connection and select Change Windows Firewall Settings. Turn the firewall On, then go to the Exceptions tab. Ensure that File and Print Sharing is checked off, as well as any other services/programs that you require.

While every effort has been made to enable the Windows Security Center to detect 3rd party firewalls, there may be some that it does not.
