Second window opens minimized

If I am in IE and want to open another window for say
Hotmail, I click on my envelope and it loads up Hotmail
but in a minimized state. Plus if I have multiple
windows open, I used to be able to just click once on the
tab at the bottom of the screen and that window would
open full page. Now I have to right click on each tab
and select "Maximize" to see it. How can I fix this?

Hi Brett :)
If I am in IE and want to open another window for say

windows open, I used to be able to just click once on the
tab at the bottom of the screen and that window would

and select "Maximize" to see it. How can I fix this?

Try the following and see if it helps.

How to resize small windows

Note for Internet Explorer Users: The latest explorer seems to open all
subsequent windows into a "small size", which you must then maximize or
enlarge. I found a fix for this searching the Usenet newsgroups.:

Start IE, right click any URL and select Open in a New Window.
Go back to the first IE window you opened and close it.
Return to the second window and manually drag it to fill the screen.
(Do not use the maximize button)
Close this second window, using the close box.
All IE5 windows should now open as maximized as you positioned your second
window

Resizing Screen (Window) in IE

For your small screen, if you have already tried the maximize, by clicking
on the center tab open the upper right corner of the screen, then do the
following:

Pass the cursor over the right side of the screen until you get a two ended
arrow <--->, then hold the left mouse button down and drag the edge of the
screen to the right as far as you want it. Then do the same on all the other
sides
until it fills the screen. Then close the Explorer and see it the screen is
now fully open

That doesn't work. I don't think I explained it clearly.
When I am on the Yahoo home page and click on the envelope
to get Hotmail to come up, I don't get any other window at
all. All I get is the small box at the bottom of the page
that says it is Hotmail. If I single click on that box,
nothing happens as it should. I have to right click on
the box and tell it to "maximize." Also, when either
window is open, I can go to the edge and ther is no double
sided arrow at all. I should be able to click on my
envelope and have hotmail pop up without trying to right
click to get it.
Also, when I do single click on the box at the bottom, the
window shoots up to the far right corner of the screen and
if I click on it again, it shoots back to the bottom. I
MUST do a right click to make the window appear.

Hi Brett :)

The window behavior as you describe could be an indication of some sort of
parasites, spyware, adware, malware, or hijackware on your system causing
the problem, which your antivirus will not detect, as it does not have the
same definitions.

Try this and see if it helps.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

Whether it works or not, continue with the following to clean the cause from
your system:

Download and install, then you *MUST* update the programs prior to running
to be sure they have the latest definitions, then run the programs below.
They are free and very effective. Be sure to run both SpyBot and Adaware,
as what one does not detect the other may. It is important that you do all
the steps and follow all directions carefully:

=========================
CAUTION!!!!!
Before you try to remove spyware using any of the programs below, download a
copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html (if your OS is Win2k or
XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill your internet
connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will enable you to
regain your connection.

Also, get a copy of WINSOCKFIX available at:
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
========================

It is important that you run the programs in the order that they are listed
here. The first three programs will clear your machine of all other items so
that you can have a clear HiJackThis Log for the experts to read and analyze
for you.

IMPORTANT!!
RUN ALL PROGRAMS OFF LINE IN SAFE MODE AND SHOW HIDDEN FILES. THEN REBOOT
AND RUN THEM AGAIN TO BE SURE ALL FILES ARE
ACCESSED, DELETING ALL ITEMS DISPLAYED IN RED IN SPYBOT.

HiJackThis:

Unzip the Download file in a NEW FOLDER that you can create before you start
the download.
DO NOT install in your Desktop folder.
DO NOT use any of the TEMP folders that are presently in your computer.
Double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

Go to:
http://computercops.biz/downloads-cat-14.html ,
or
http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.php#hjt
(If you get a 404 error or Access denied, try:
http://216.180.252.218/~spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/hijackthis.zip)

and download HiJackThis to the new folder. Unzip to a folder other than your
Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HiJackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button. Press that, save the log some place you remember where it is.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so DO NOT fix
anything yet.

Open the copy of your log in NotePad and make a copy. Then you can go to one
of the following to post your log:

analyze the log and report back the results. Please allow at least a few
hours or a days time for a response, depending on when you post the log

idea to click the "Notify" box so that you will get an electronic
