screen resolution and color quality

i did a restore a couple of days ago and now my screen resolution is 800 by
600 and my color quality is 4 bit and i've tried everything to change it bt i
can't,please help

Download and install updated drivers for your graphics card.

Have you tried right clicking on the desktop, properties, settings and
increase the color setting to 16, 24, or 32 bit??

One thing to check: Start - Run MSConfig.exe and look on the Boot.ini
page. If /BASEVIDEO is checked, uncheck it and exit to reboot.

If not that you probably need to reinstall video drivers - download
latest for your card from the maker's site
