Scanner & Camera Control Panel Applet

I was exploring some of my little used Control Panel Applets and found
the Scanners & Cameras Applet. I observed that my HP Scanner appears
and disappears depending on whether I have it turned on or not. So I
go out my digital camera, hooked it up, and expected to see an entry
appear there as well. The Camera only opens a window titled FinePix
Removable drive, but no entry in the Scanner & Camera Applet.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the Camera Software didn't make any
difference. Any ideas on how I can get it to appear there? What
exactly would it do for me if it did?

You can click on add and it might show up - or you can select add and then
say you have disk and it might show up. Some cameras don't appear there at
all. When you go through the add process you'll need to say you have the
disk (probably) and point it to the .inf file on the CD that is appropriate
for your model.

It isn't too important but I made this for you.

That will show you what you're missing - not much and not all of those
options might be available with your camera model.

Thanks. I'll give the "Add" option a try. But like you said, I'm not
missing much, so if it doesn't work, I'll not fret over it.
