Scanner agfa e50 driver

I have recently change platform from Windows ME to
Windows XP. My scanner was functioning properly before
the change. I went to agfa website and downloaded the new
driver for the scanner and installed it on my computer.
When trying to get the scanner going I get a message that
says " pls turn your scanner on" however it is "ON" What
is my problem. Can anyone help me with this one.

I would suggest you to check the connection cable at both
ends.
