Scanlogic USB storage Device

I have an adapter that allows you to use any standard IDE device ( like
a hard drive ) via a USB port. I have lost the software driver CD.

I have XP sp2. I cannot get the device to work.

I have tried uninstalling the driver and re-scanning for new devices
and always get the same message. New ScanLogic USB Storage Device
found, followed by "A problem occurred during hardware installation.
Your new hardware might not work properly."
Under Device Manager, the yellow warning is next to the driver under
USB Controllers. Under Device Status in Properties, the error message
states: The device cannot start (code 10).

Any suggestions on rectifying this problem?

TIA!
