SBC/Yahoo services

I switched from DSL to Cable internet access. The Dsl provider was SBC/Yahoo
I cancelled my account with them. I went to uninstall SBC/Yahoo services and
the uninstaller hangs when launched. I called SBC to ask how to remove their
software and they told me to call my computer manufacturer and ask how to
remove it. I explained to the gentleman on the phone that my computer
manfucaturer didnt install their software on my computer. They told me they
couldnt offer any solutions. Does anyone on newsgroup know how I can get rid
of their software or know why the uninstaller hangs when launched? Their
software is taking up over 200mb of disk space and I'd like to free that
space up..any suggestions would be appreciated.

Reinstall the software, reboot, then uninstall it. Program installations
do sometimes become damaged. What amazes me is that, with all those
millions of electrons moving from here to there and back again, programs
only occasionally get damaged.

Since you know that the software is taking up 200 megs, simply delete those
folders and files. Next, ensure that there are no startups for the programs.
So go into msconfig and disable any entries related to motive*, sbc*, yop,
ca*, then reboot. (start > run > msconfig > startup tab > disable the
mentioned entries ). You might want to get a registry cleaner to remove the
orphaned entries from the registry.

Create a Manual Restore Point before proceeding as a safeguard.
