CCD Process

When I reboot I get a error message, Fatal error: Unable to connect to the
CCD process. When I click on connection manager, ( I have SBC DSL) I get the
same error. I called SBC/DSL support and they said it's a Microsoft issue.
Anyone know what this error is and how to resolve it?

SBC/DSL support would say that, wouldn't they?

CCD.exe
[[Broadjump’s CorrectConnect Engine – Broadjump is now "Motive". Software
installed with the DSL (ADSL) Connection Manager of many ISPs, amongst them
SBC Global, NTL, Telewest. "CorrectConnect is a software solution that
automates common support functions such as monitoring, testing and repairing
a subscriber's service, thus greatly reducing the need for live help desk
support. By diminishing the time, cost, and complexity associated with
providing technical support, BroadJump's CorrectConnect will help ISPs
consistently provide a superior standard of service management to their
growing base of subscribers. With this tool, ISPs can also send messages
directly to their subscribers notifying them about important network
maintenance activities or industry information such as software virus
warnings. This information, in certain situations, can then allow the user
to take the appropriate steps to avoid that issue. These specific customer
support functions will help ISPs establish an ongoing relationship with
their subscribers and further expand a market advantage.".

Recommendation :
This software is DEFINITELY not needed to have a working DSL connection, but
it is usually inextricably linked to the connection manager software that
you may have installed from your ISP’s disk. Thus, in most cases, you
cannot de-install this software without adversely affecting your DSL
connection manager software. That said, read about CMANAGER further down
this page for more details and to see if you want to do anything about this
task. If you de-install your Connection Manager software, you can then
elect to de-install CCD.]]

Cmanager.exe
[[Connection Manager application for the SBC Yahoo DSL Internet access
service. The Connection Manager enables you to start and connect your SBC
Yahoo DSL connection. Note : Connection Manager is often bundled with
Broadjump’s CorrectConnect (CCD.EXE).

Recommendation :
PC lock-ups, high CPU usage, and slow Internet connection are the main
problems we have seen reported for this task, which beggars belief as we
would have expected any ISP to ensure that the software they give their
end-users would make their DSL service feel so fast and reliable that the
users would recommend it to others. Not a bit of it here ! If you are
technically advanced and know how to set up a dial-up connection to SBC
Yahoo DSL, de-install Connection Manager via the "Add/Remove Programs" icon
in the Control Panel and set up your connection manually instead.]]
