Saving Word files on network

Dave

Hi everyone, hope you can help with this one.

I have a client PC running Windows 2000 SP4 and Word 2003
(just installed as part of Office 2003). Whenever the user
tries to save documents to our network drive she receives
the error message:

An error occurred while reconnecting T: to
\\W2kdocserver\Filing

Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is
already in use. This connection has not been restored.

After clicking OK to this message three times the document
is eventually saved. The server she is saving the document
to is running Windows 2000 Server SP3.

Anyone have any idea what we can do to stop this?

Many thanks.

Sounds like autodisconnect but not sure. Do a search on Microsoft's
knowledge base for "autodisconnect." Is it just Word docs or any files
saved to that location?

Many thanks for that. I tinkered with the autodisconnect
settings on the server (per Microsoft) but this didn't fix
it. I have since determined that it only happens when
saving Word documents to the network drive - other
documents can be saved without any problems.
