Error reconnecting to shared network while saving

I have a user who keeps getting the following error, they are the only
one in the UK with this problem.... at first I thought it maybe the AVG
version they had so upgraded it as this has been a known fault with the
particular software but this has not solved the problem.

An error occurred while reconnecting G: to [shared network
path] Microsoft Windows Network : The local device name is
already in use. This connection has not been restored.


Yet the document is still saved on the network drive. This
happens in Word and Excel 2000, as well as Internet
Explorer 6.

Any help at all much appreciated!

if running a logon script start the script with net use driveletter/delete
then map your drives.

This can be the result of a persistent drive mapping or one done thru
explorer locally.
