Save file to disk?

Is there a way to work with Access without using my hard drive? Can I use a portable hard drive, a pen drive or anything else? I've tried CDRW but it doesn't work

Don't know about pen drive but portable hard disk is fine.

OTOH, accessing files on portable hard disk is generally slower than the
permanent hard disk so I carry my portable drive around with me but if I
need to do some work, I copy it to the permanent hard disk. When finished,
I copy the whole thing back to my portable hard disk.
