Hi,
I have been battling a very annoying performance problem when navigating
directories especially when doing a "Save As" but also when opening files or
sometimes just in Windows Explorer moving around. Each time I click on a new
folder I often have to wait a minute or more before it opens up that folder.
If I click on the list box to see all the drives that takes forever too. I
do have several network drives mapped and they too are slow to access but
this happens even when I'm strictly navigating folders on local drives. I'm
on XP SP2. What gives? One other data point. I have an application called
Total Commander which is similar to Windows Explorer. It suffers from none
of these delays and performance is very fast. That's fine for certain things
but obviously it's not being used when I do a "Save As" or go to open a file.
Thanks!
Bob
