"Save As" on live server

Using FP2003, why am I not able to open a page on a "live" server, and save
it as a different name? Let's say the page is called blank1.htm, and I want
to save it as blank2.htm. When I click the save button, I get a message
saying the new file name can't be found. Also, FP doesn't give me the "save
in" window for the web I'm looking at. Is there a setting I need to change?
This applies to all my websites, whether they are using FP extensions or not.

1. You can only edit on the live/remote server if the server has the FP extensions and you have
opened the site directly in FP using File Menu | Open Site.

2. If the live/remote server doesn't have the FP extensions, then you can not edit directly on the
server with FP.

Well, apparently I am on the live server because I can make any other changes
to the web and save them. I just can"t "save as" to change a page's name.

Can you right click the file in the folder list and then rename?

Yes, I can do that, but then I lose the original file. Typically, in other
versions of FP, I would publish a file named "blank.htm" and use it to create
new pages live on the web server. Apparently, with FP2003 I am unable to do
that, although I swear I was able to do that a few months ago.

Ok, your really should be able to use Save As

Contact your web host and ask them to run a check on the extensions for your account and/or check
permissions and temp space, etc.
