Server error?? Root Web??

I am getting very frustrated with my website. All of a sudden I am rarely
able to get to my website through FP. I will get an error message saying
"Server Error <Root Web> Server Busy." I checked with my hosting company,
and they said the problem was not on their end. The FP Extensions are
installed. Nothing changed... it just all of a sudden stopped working.
Sometimes I'm able to connect, and save a page or two, but that's it. I get
the error message.
I don't update my pages on my own computer... I work on my site through the
http address... and save it to the ftp address! So I never "publish"my
website... I just click save, and the site is update live. Not sure if that
matters or would help in solving this problem!

Somebody please help me. I don't know how to fix the problem.

DESPERATE!!!!

I don't understand "I work on my site through the http address... and
save it to the ftp address!" If you work on the site live through the
http address the files are saved to the http address. Using FTP will
corrupt the extensions and you will not be able to open the site in
FrontPage.

It sounds like the extensions need to be checked - ask the host to run a
Server Health Check. While waiting for the host also delete the web
cache files and temporary files from your PC. Download FP Cleaner from
http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and, with FrontPage closed,
run the routines that delete the hidden web cache files, and delete the
hidden temporary files - a corrupted web cache file could be causing the
problem.

Ronx,
To try and clarify... I don't have my website on my home computer at all. I
just work on it as the http web address. If I go to the "publish" link it
shows my http folders on the left side of the screen, and the right side of
the screen shows what's on the host's server (I guess) and the address at top
says ftp://www.mywebsiteaddress.com.
Should I have a copy of my website on my home computer??? How can I do that?

Thank you for your suggestions. I am able to manage my account with my host
server (godaddy) online... I uninstalled the FB Extensions, waited an hour
then reinstalled them. I waited an hour as well. The last time I spoke to
them, they ran a diagnostic and said they don't show a problem on their end
at all. So I went ahead and deleted the temp. internet files. Then
downloaded the FPCleaner and had the hidden files deleted as well.

I restarted the computer, and opened up FP... it opened as normal promting
me for the username and password. Once everything opened and I could see all
my files, and clicked on a folder to expand it... I waited awhile, then got a
prompt that sais this:

"An error occurred accessing your Windos SharePoint Services site files.
Authors- if authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for
this server's website. Webmaster's- please see the server's application
event log for more details."

What does all that mean?? I just don't understand the problem.

Hope to hear from you soon!
Still desperate!!!!

If your FPSE are working and you are opening your website "live" on the
server...in the Folder List on the on the left you will see your website's
url at the top (the root) like this http://www.yourwebsite.com with folders
and files below that.

You don't need to go anywhere near the Publish button or File | Publish when
you are working live...just save your changes...close your website...walk
away - you're done.

You should be working locally and Publishing up to the server, this way you
always have a copy and you're not making changes while viewers are surfing
your site.

If you want to do this...(with your web opened live - as above) you will
File | Publish Site back to your local hardrive to a folder like C:\My
Documents\My Webs\ anywebnameyouchoose - but without extensions or illegal
characters in the name.

If you are working on the server (http address) then you don't need the
Publish - all this will do is overwrite the files you just edited, and
since the destination is set to FTP publishing will possibly corrupt the
extensions. To publish down to your PC change the location of the right
column to point to a folder on your PC, then publish Local to Remote.

To change the location:
In Windows explorer make a new folder, say at C:\myweb (choose your own
location).

Open FrontPage, and open your website and change to Remote Site View.
If you get a prompt for a username/password click Cancel - you will be
prompted to use Remote Site Properties to create a location to publish
to, if there is no prompt then click on Remote Site Properties.
Select File System, and type in (or browse to) the new folder - C:\myweb
FrontPage will offer to convert this to a website, then show 2 folders
in the right column.

Publish by selecting Local to Remote (probably already selected) then
click Publish.
In FrontPage parlance, the Local site is the first site you open (left
column in Remote Site View), the remote site is the other one (Right
Column). It does not matter where the sites are physically located.

From posts in this and related newsgroups and forums GoDaddy's expertise
with the extensions is not good. It still sounds like you (or GoDaddy)
should run a server health check - this is not the same as removing and
reinstalling the extensions since it also corrects permissions on
folders as well.
