Safely remove hardware feature

The "safely remove hardware" icon is not showing up in my notification area.
I am not sure why it went away and I want it back. :)

Connect some hardware. It won't appear unless something is connected to
the USB ports.

Hi Andy,

Right click on the Start Button >> Click on Properties from the list.
On the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties Window click on Taskbar tab.
Then Look at the bottom of the window and click on the Customize Button
opposite this check box :
[ ] Hide inactive icons .......... [ Customize...]

There a list on the Customize will show up, please Locate the item for:
Safely Remove Hardware and Click on the Behaviour option and make it Always
Show.

Click [OK] then [OK] again to close the taskbar window. Does it show up?
You may have to reboot your system.
