How can I stop someone from starting in safe mode and changing their user
account from limited to administrator? Thanks

Thank you, but I have the admin user password protected. Apparently safe mode
let's you make yourself an administrator at will. I'm not sure how it is done
but I know it is possible. Anybody else?

Change your passwords.

It is not possible for a limited user to promote themselves in safe mode
from a limited account. They are logging into an account with admin
privileges or to the hidden administrator account.

Larry,
You mentioned the hidden admin acct. that must be it. Any suggestions on how
to get rid of it. I have used multiple passwords and when on I check on this
user 's account, they have changed from limited to admin again.

You cannot get rid of that account. It is essential for machine admin.

Boot to the hidden administrator account by booting to safe mode and choose
Administrator with no password (unless they have password protected the
account to keep you out). Once in the Administrator account, set a password
on it the same way you would any other account.
Reboot to normal mode and they will not be able to change their accounts by
logging into safe mode as Administrator with a blank password.

Thank you, I'm sure that will solve the problem.
