Hi,

I've had a look through the topics but not found a relevant answer.

I've recently created a new user profile on my machine and since then, I get
a runtime error message when first opening outlook.

The error message says that 'This spplication has requested the runtime to
terminate it in an unusual way'.

I found a reply (from Andreas Roeder) to a similar question and did as
suggested - which was to uncheck everything in the add-in manager. Made no
differnce.

Any thoughts on this much appreciated.

No, not that I'm aware of!

Since my first post I've found a similar thread where it's suggested that
it's a known issue between XP with multiple user profiles and NIS 2004 and
the 'cure' is to rename a file (can't remember name off-hand). The
consequence of this is that Norton anti-span will not function. I guess it's
a question of deciding whether to put up with the initial failure or not
having any anti-spam. I suppose if I go for the latter I'll have to find out
the file name!

It seems this error has been fixed by the latest Norton AntiSpam 2005
program update. Run Live Update.

I recieve the same message that "this application has requested the runtime
to terminate in an unusual manner" which than proceeds to close mail. What
did you do to alleviate the problem?
