Runtime environment

Can anybody point me to somewhere I can download the Access Runtime 97 or
greater? I've spent ages going round the microsoft website and don't seem to
be able to find it.

The runtime is not and never has been a free download. You obtain the tools for
distributing the runtime along with the license to do so by *purchasing* the
relevant developer's toolkit for that version of Access. It is true that it is
free for the USER of runtime distributed apps, but the person who is
distributing it has to pay for the privilege of doing so.

Unfortunately, MS pretty much sells only the current such toolkit so for Access
97 you would have to acquire it from some third party that happens to still have
a copy.

You can't download it: you have to purchase it and, unfortunately, Microsoft
doesn't sell any version but the Access 2003 version.
