When windows starts "Run a DLL as an APP" comes up on
title bar wiht warning "encountered a problem and must
shutdown". Error signature is App Name rundll32.exe.
Anyone got the solution? I have been searching the
knowledge base and Windows XP page without any luck yet.

Hi,

It means some program loading at startup is making an invalid call to a
library file. Rundll32.exe is just the file used to load dll's. It is not
the problem, it's just the messenger.

How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP [Q310560]

This should help you idnetify the problem. Once identified, you may need to
reinstall the problematic program, or seek assitance from the program
distributor.

Rick, Hey it took about 3 minutes to discovery my ATI
remote control is the problem. In msconfig if I uncheck
it for startup XP starts up perfect and if I then simply
load the ATI remote the DLL error occurs. Thanks, I can
deal with that.

Well, the fix that ATI said works is to run x10drivers
but I'm not sure about that. I'm reluctant to run it when
it is made for alot of other stuff. Also, have learned
others have load x10 and the remote still doesn't work so
I'm hoping ATI comes up with there own fix. Could an
enable Wireless router interfere? I will still keep
seaching.
