Can't turn on or off system restore--it crashes

When I click on the system restore tab in system properties... a grey box
appears

" Run a DLL as an APP" " has encountered a problem and needs to clise. we

Try to replace the srrstr.dll ModVer 5.1.2600.2180 , It is a possibility that it is corrupted. Back up 1st if old dll file is still in place.

I replaced the .dll file in windows/system32. You didn't specify but I
believe that is the only location it is in.

When I click the system restore tab....I get a grey error box instantly.
