Router always connected to PC

Hi,
One of my Gateway 4X computers is always connected to my Belkin router, even
when the PC is turned off.
The Power Options in Control Panel do NOT enable hibernation.
No UPS is used.
The Power Scheme for Home/Office Desk is set to to turn off the monitor
after 20 minutes; never turn off the hard disk and never use System Standby.
Advanced settings show Shut Down when power button is pressed.
What do I have to do to turn off the connection to the router when I turn
off the PC?
Thanks

By "always connected", do you mean that the connection light for the port is
showing as on? If so, this is due to the LAN socket on the motherboard being
powered up even when the PC is "off". This might be something you can change
in the BIOS, it's related to the ability to use "Wake on LAN" (where a
connection to the PC can cause it to power back up if required). I find that
all of my recently built (past 2 years) PCs always have power to the LAN
connection even when off and with the "Wake on LAN" setting disabled in the
BIOS - if the PC isn't on, it's not a problem, the light is just showing you
that something is connected to the cable at the other end.

Nothing. When your computer is powered off, the router has nothing to
connect to. A router does not affect the ability of a computer to enter
Standby or Hibernation.

What is it that you're asking about: Hibernation? Power Settings? Routers?
