Roaming Profile Problem

We are experiencing a problem with our roaming profiles. We have two
Citrix servers and our profiles are stored on a separate server. The
user's AD account has the UNC name in the Terminal Services Profile tab.

In the past couple of days, we have started getting a number of people
getting the message that their roaming profile could not be loaded.
After they log off, we check the Citrix server and the profile is gone
from the "Profiles" tab in the "My Computer" properties. However, the
profile directory under "Documents & Settings" is there. When the user
logs back on, they get the expected desktop. So far, it's a only a few
people, but I'd like to try and figure out what is happening....

TIA,
Hank Arnold

I looked into the event logs and found that the following event:

1000: Windows cannot copy file C:\Documents and
Settings\ettoric\Recent\Desktop.ini to location
\\userfiles\profiles\ettoric\Recent\Desktop.ini. Contact your network
administrator.

DETAIL - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by
another process.

That tickled my memory and I looked at the reports from our tape backup.

Guess what? When the profile load failed, there was an incremental
babkup happening! Also, the backup reports showed profile files not
backed up .... busy!!

I've updated the backup to exclude the profile files when run during the
day.

Whew!!
