Corrupt roaming profiles

We are experiencing a problem where users roaming profiles are
getting
corrupted. Our scripts does not get applied because the ntuser.dat
file is corrupt. It is about 80 - 85kb in size when this problem
occurs. If I recreate the users ntuser.dat things are back to normal.
We have this problem since we had to update our Symantec Antivirus
from Version 9.0 to 10.1 because of a performance-issue with one of
our application. Now we have the newest Symantec Antivirus version
10.1.5.5010 and the problem still exists.

Now to downgrade to Version 9.0 would be the best solution, but this
is not possible.

As a workaround we don't run SAV on the terminal server during peak-
logon-hours and so we only have a few corrupt profiles left. This is
surely a security risk and it is something that I need resolved.

[We have W2K SP4 with Citrix PS 3.0 and Symantec Antivirus
10.1.5.5010]

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks is advanced.

You could try excluding the ntuser.dat files from the scanning engine?

Looks like there may be a patch:

Excluding the *.DAT file-extension don't work
