right-clicking to 'save image as' no longer actually saves anythin

Our power went out 4 times yesterday while the computer was on. We have no
UPS, so the computer lost power each time and shut off. Since then, when we
right-click on an image while in Mozilla Firefox, choose 'save image as' and
then select where to save it, save it as a jpeg with it's original name, it
acts like it's saving the picture. However, when we go to that folder there
is no file saved there. What can we do to fix this bizarre glitch?

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:
