Saving gif. files from the internet

I use to able to save gif files off of the internet. Now when i right click a
picture, the only option that it gives me to save a pic under is bitmap
(bmp). No other option appears. I have tried this on several different places
and still get the same thing. Is there a way to reconfigure my computer
settings, so that when I go to save a file by right clicking, I can choose
how it is saved, i.e. gif., jpeg, etc.
I have tried everything to fix this. I have cleared out my cacahe and temp
internet files. I have tried to save the gif images on my desktop and opening
them in another program. I have even tried emailing them to myself. Nothing
works.

I have tried to right click on images that I created in PSP and saved in
photobucket and now I can only save as bmp. when they should be gif.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Take a look at this article:

Internet Explorer saves images as bitmaps (.bmp Files)

If this doesn't solve your problem you might want to post your
question, if you haven't done so already, to the Internet
Explorer newsgroup.

Good luck
