.GIF Animation Saving Problem

I try to save .gif animations to "my pictures" for my website. When i click "save as" and try to save, the "Save as Type:" section won't let me change it to .gif only .bmp! I'm sure its a .gif file to because that is how it is displayed. I also thought it could be the one website but it wasn't...what's wrong, or what can I do?

Clear the Temporary Internet Files. In IE>Tools>Internet Options>
Delete Files button. And check the box to Delete Offline content.
