Unfortunately your post is very vague and hard to understand. When you say sort the start menu, are you reffering to the all programs list? Or are you trying to get into the properties for the start menu or taskbar? If the first then click start\all programs and then right click on any program in the list and select "sort by name" and the list will be set alphabetically. If you are referring to editing the list then right click on the start button and then click properties and then the startup tab. If neither of these then post back with something a little more detailed. {:~)

You need to enable the "Enable Dragging and Dropping" Option in your start menu properties. Follow these steps:

Classic Start Menu:
Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab, choose Customize
Enable the option "Enable Dragging and Dropping."

For New Start Menu:
Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab, choose Customize
Click "Advanced" tab and enable the option "Enable Dragging and Dropping."

Hi,

Check your settings here: Most users who face this issue can still right
click the Start button, even though they can't right click on the Start
Menu. Here is the workaround:

Right click the Start button, select Properties, Customize. Scroll through
the options on the Advanced tab and put the check mark back in Enable
dragging and dropping.

If your right clicking abilities are more complexed, run this edit.

Enable or Disable the Right Click Context Menu (Line 56)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
