when right-clicking on a folder in the start menu, the functions : open,
open all users, explore, explore all users, don't work properly. Instead
of opening a folder, the highlight just moves down to the next item in the
start menu. Or sometimes the one below the next item. Anybody know how to
fix this? Thanks in advance

These aren't exact matches, but might help:

Kelly, the reg files you suggested did not work. Elmo, I followed the
advice in the site you suggested, using ShellExView, and it turned out to be
the new version of Webroot SpySweeper, with a new "online backup" feature.
I disabled the context menu handler for the online backup, and now the right
click works properly. I don't know if I should wait for Webroot to fix the
problem in a later version, or if I should re-install the latest version.

That's great news! Thanks for reporting your results, and thanks to
the MVPs and other volunteers that have developed and shared these fixes
over time.
