Restoration Incomplete

I've tried to use Windows XP restore feature but without
success. I selected 3 different dates, spaced over the
last few months, with the same result: a message
informing me that the restoration was incomplete.
Any ideas?

Many thanks for your reply. I'll do as you suggest. I
like the link - very useful.

Try in Safe Mode:
Start/Restart your computer and start pushing F8 key
twice per second. Select Safe Mode on Windows Advanced
Options screen, and push Enter.
Try other Restore Points.

Unfortunately, System Restore doesnâ?Tt work properly
for number of users... I keep it off to safe system
resources and time.

Trying to restore your machine from that far back in time may cause
more problems than it'll fix, even if it did work. Your restore is
probably corrupt. Turn it off, reboot, and turn it back on again.
All restore points will be lost and a new one will be created.

Make sure you've allocated enough space for system restore to use.
Restore points older than several weeks can cause trouble when used to
restore the system. I say "can" cause trouble, maybe not. But
remember, any programs installed and changes to the registry after a
restore point is made are going to be lost.

Do not depend on system restore but make backups instead.
