Cannot restore

Windows XP Pro, Svc pack 3,
When I run restore, computer tries to restore, reboots and message says
"incomplete restore" System does not restore. I went back over a month.
(over 15 restore points) When the computer reboots I have a blue screen
that says
"checking file system on H, Volume is dirty" Chkdsk checks files and
completes
reboot. Have Zone Alarm (free) and AVG Antivirus (free) Ran AVG, OK, Also
ran
Ad-aware, OK. It seems like a virus but am not sure.
Advice appreciated.

zonealarm is the cause, it keeps system restore from working properly.
