System Restore Not Working / Restoration Incomplete

C

Const

I tried to use my system restore function to reset my computer to a date in
October, however I keep getting a message that reads "Restore Incomplete Your
Computer Cannot Be Restored To (date)." However, I am able to restore the
system to dates that are less than two weeks old. I have tried using safe
mode, but it didn't help. I have uninstalled Windows Defender and turned off
McAfee Security, but that didn't help. I also checked the disk space, but it
seemed to be fine.

I have looked through bertk.mvps.org, and it was very helpful, but I'm not
sure which fix listed would apply to me.

Lastly, I noticed that I somehow changed the System Configuration Utility
from Selective Startup to Normal Startup, maybe from a time when I was
changing a program to automatic startup. Unfortunately I can't change it
back to Selective Startup.

Could the two be related? Anyway, if anyone has an idea on how to fix the
system restore I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

What antivirus product have you got installed?

Some have "self protection" like Kaspersky and Nortons - they have to
have self protection disabled prior to running system restore,
otherwise the error that you got occurs.

It was in his post, lol.
