Replace an existing Windows 2000 server

I have a Windows 2000 server that is end of lease and
needs to be replaced. What is the best way to do this and
keep the current server name??
 
The recommended way would be to perform a reinstall. However, there is a
knowledge base article which discusses performing a restore to other
hardwarel
