Print Server - Newly Leased Hardware

Hi:

Operating System is Windows 2000 Server, Service Pack 4. Server is a member
print server in a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain.

We have an existing Windows 2000 server hardware platform that currently
houses over a hundred printers in a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain. We
know have the task of moving these printers from the old leased hardware to a
newly leased hardware platform. What is the path of least resistance?

In other words, we wish to migrate the defined one hundred plus servers on
the old server hardware to the new server hardware. Is there a utility in the
resource kit or some other utility or trick we may employ to easily move the
defined 100 plus printers from the old server to the newly leased server
hardware?

Afterwards, we would like to just remove the old server from the network.
Rename our new server to the same name as the old server, change the IP to
the old server’s IP and hopefully everyone will resume printing without
knowing we even switched out the hardware late at night.

Any information and or insight is welcomed.

Thanks in advance for any information or insight!

Use the Print Migrator tool from MS.
