I somehow inadvertently named my F:drive the name of a file for Quicken. I
want to rename it omitting the file name. I cannot find anywhere I can
rename the drive. Then I wonder what will happen to that file that got stuck
in there.

Go to Start/Run, and type :
diskmgmt.msc

You can change the drive letter, or the volume name (highlight drive, file
menu, Options)

Try this.
As Administrator go to Settings/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer
Management/Disk Management/Right click the drive with the wrong name, go for
Properties. There is a panel at the top with the name of the drive - go change
that.
