Renaming Special Folder

My office bought several new notebooks and I got one. The problem is that all
notebooks have very similar computer name which become permanent in the
special folder under Documents and Setting\"Computer Name"\App Data,..., My
Documents, ....etc. It also shows up as a special folder at the bottom list
folders under C:. I want to rename this to become unique for each notebook
for example the name of office division. I tried to rename the folder but it
says:"Computer Name" is Windows system folder and is required for Windows to
run properly.It cannot be moved or renamed. How to safely rename this folder?

i.e. my computer is called Headfunk, user is john
folders are named "john's doc..." "Headfunk is the name on the network"

one) from Control Panel/User Account/Change my name/, but it still shows as
"wrong name"'s documents. Can you help? Thanks.

I searched file desktop.ini and found 1 in C:\WINDOWS and another 1 in
C:\WINDOWS\system32 and 4 in hidden files but all are empty. I found one in
the special folder (C:\Documents and Settings\username\Recent) and open with
Notepad:

[.ShellClassInfo]
IconFile=_vti_pvt/fpdbw.ico
IconIndex=0
ConfirmFileOp=0
InfoTip=Stores your local web site

What should I do? I do not know what to edit. Thanks

I guess you're wanting to rename the "username" folder. This can be done,
but requires registry editing. Instead create a new user profile with your
preferred name, and then copy your data to the new profile.

Thanks Ramesh, I think your suggestion creating new username is great. But do
I have to create it as administrator type because after that I want to delete
the old one which is Administrator ( I am the only one who use the NB).

I guess you're wanting to rename the "username" folder. This can be done,
but requires registry editing. Instead create a new user profile with your
preferred name, and then copy your data to the new profile.

Yes. Create one of type administrator.

Ignore the article title. You'll just need to update the Profile path.
Create a folder with your preferred name and transfer the files from old
profile to newly created profile.
